How the amounts are calculated

Due date is the 15th of the month following the wage month. Delay is counted in days from the due date to the date of payment.
A/c 1 is the employer's share less 8.33% pension, plus the employees' share unless exempt. The PF rate is 10% for wage months up to Sep-1997 and 12% from Oct-1997 (raised from 22.09.1997), unless 10% throughout is selected. With 12%: A/c 1 is 15.67%, or 3.67% if the employees' share is exempt.
Other rates on wages: A/c 2 at 0.65% up to Jul-1998, 1.10% from Aug-1998 to Dec-2014, 0.85% from Jan-2015, 0.65% from Apr-2017 and 0.50% from Jun-2018; A/c 10 at 8.33%; A/c 21 at 0.50%; A/c 22 at 0.01% up to Mar-2017 and nil after.
7Q interest is 12% a year on each account's contribution for the days of delay, rounded to the rupee. It applies to dues falling on or after 01.07.1997, when Section 7Q came into force.
14B for months due before 14.06.2024 uses a per-annum rate for the days of delay, set by the total period of delay. For dues before 26.09.2008 the Para 32A slabs are 17%, 22%, 27% and 37% (under 2, 2–4, 4–6, and 6 months or more); from 26.09.2008 they are 5%, 10%, 15% and 25%. The highest-slab option applies 37% or 25% to every month, as in the Excel sheet. For months due from 14.06.2024 it is 1% of the contribution for each month of delay, with any part of a month counted as a full month (GSR 327(E) dated 14.06.2024; EPFO letter dated 28.08.2024).
For each year, 14B levied (D) is limited to 100% of the contribution (A). Amount to be deposited is (B) + (D).
